This network is created exclusively to facilitate Maldivian teachers in achieving their teaching and learning goals, through interactions and by providing, sharing and discussing materials which could be utilized in teaching and learning in Maldivian schools. This is also an open forum for Maldivian teachers to share their problems in teaching with all the teachers and other stakeholders to seek solutions. All the teachers and other staff in the field of education anywhere in the world are welcome here to provide their thoughts and experiences to assist Maldivian teachers. This forum is not by any means a platform for any unhealthy debate or political discussions unless directly related to teaching and learning support. The visitors of this forum are requested to use well polished language and respect other visitors, as this is a forum which should set a suitable example of matured communication which shows respect towards others. All the teachers who teach in Maldives are advised to become followers of this network which can easily be done by having a Google email ID. Welcome to a New Academic Year

Once again we are back at school to prepare for the work which we have to do for the year ahead. Hence let us begin this New Year 2011, with a new spirit and a stronger determination.

Proper planning and adequate knowledge of what is to be taught will certainly make our lessons interesting and fruitful. Most teachers fail in conveying the lessons properly as they ignore the importance of reading for knowledge of what is to be taught and as planning and gathering resources for a lesson is taken too lightly, just to fulfill the requirement of the superiors. This happens sometimes when we feel that our audience is a group of small students or less intelligent students and we feel that this kind of audience can be dealt with even without further preparations. It also happens when we do preparations for the lessons just to satisfy our superiors who at the same time may just see what you have done to satisfy their superiors. Understanding and feeling the true need of preparations for a lesson is very essential to keep our students, parents, our superiors and most importantly our selves happy in the work environment.

Thus let us determine with beginning of this year , 2011, to read and expand our horizon of knowledge  and make our lessons interesting and useful for our students by preparing the lessons and gathering  necessary resources to make the lessons more fruitful than the previous year.
